The Physical Environment

The structure of the physical environment is important for a child with autism. The Wings Learning Center is designed to be calm, organized, clean and conducive to learning across all modalities.

Children with autism can often become over stimulated by the many sights, sounds, smells, and objects in typical classrooms. The Wings environment is designed especially to minimize such auditory, visual, or material distractions. Each child is therefore better able to focus on the task at hand.
